Rajayogas v/s Dasha

Rajayoga in a horoscope is believed to be the ultimate redemption - a promise of comforts, riches, love and freedom from all the problems.

However they are not a rare phenomenon at all. It's easy to spot at least one or more of them in any random horoscope.

This begs the question why don't we all enjoy life of problem-free riches and comfort? The answer lies in the Dasha. Dasha shows which planet is active at any given point in time. It is only in the Dasha of a planet involved in the Rajayoga that the person will be able to enjoy the benefits of this yoga - though the extent of benefits will depend on the strength of the yoga(explains why we all aren't Ambanis;)).

For example - It is not only important to have Rajayoga promising good education/career but it is equally important to have the Dasha of education/career supporting planet during the appropriate stage of life. Dasha of an unfavorable planet at a crucial point of student life may cause the person to undergo a gap year or change subjects/courses in school/college.

Hence, it is not only important to have a Rajayoga but also to have a favourable Dasha of Rajayoga-creating planet/s in his/her lifetime.
